Cookie Policy
This policy lists every cookie and similar storage item the Assukna platform (the “Platform”, operated by Assukna Real Estate Lebanon SARL) sets in your browser, what each one does, and how long it lasts. It supplements section 9 of our Privacy Policy.
1. Summary
We set no advertising cookies, no third-party tracking cookies, and no cross-site profiling of any kind. The Platform currently sets two cookies, both strictly necessary, plus one local-storage item used to remember that you have seen our cookie notice. We do not sell or share this data.
2. What we set
Strictly necessary cookies
- assukna_token — your signed session token, set when you sign in. It is what keeps you logged in and is required for every authenticated action on the Platform. It is an httpOnly cookie, meaning JavaScript running in your browser cannot read it, and it is sent only over an encrypted connection. It is cleared when you sign out. Without this cookie the Platform cannot function, so it cannot be declined while you are signed in.
- assukna_lang — remembers whether you chose English or Arabic, so the Platform loads in your language on your next visit. It holds nothing but a language code.
Local storage
- assukna_cookie_consent — stores the date on which you dismissed our cookie notice, so it is not shown to you again. This is stored in your browser’s local storage and is never transmitted to us.
3. Third-party cookies
Assukna itself sets no third-party cookies. However, certain flows hand you over to a third-party provider, which may set its own cookies under its own policy while you are with it:
- Sumsub — during identity verification, to run the verification session.
- Stripe — during card payment and for payment fraud prevention.
These providers are described in our Trust & Legal Centre, and their own cookie and privacy policies govern what they set.
4. Analytics
We do not currently run any analytics or measurement cookies on the Platform. If we introduce them, this policy will be updated before they are deployed, and non-essential cookies will be placed only with your consent through a control that allows you to decline.
5. Your cookie notice
Because everything we set today is strictly necessary, the notice shown on your first visit is an acknowledgement rather than a consent gate — there is nothing optional to switch off. To see it again, clear the assukna_cookie_consent item from your browser’s local storage for this site.
6. Controlling cookies in your browser
Every major browser lets you view, block and delete cookies through its settings. Blocking the assukna_token cookie will prevent you from signing in; blocking assukna_lang will simply mean the Platform defaults to English on each visit.
7. Changes to this policy
We will update this policy whenever we add, remove or change a cookie, and we will revise the date at the top when we do.
